The Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra has been 181. season. The nestarším Orchestra in the territory of the Czech Republic and one of the oldest in the world. It was founded already in 1835 by the composer, violinist and conductor Joseph Labitzkým as a seasonal Spa ensemble. Forty years later, his son August turned Labitzký permanent Symphony Orchestra with its versatile repertoire. A significant achievement of the Orchestra was to launch the continental premiere of Antonín Dvořák’s new world Symphony in the post Court 20. of July 1894. Currently brings in addition to the summer promenade concerts that spa town belongs, as well as regular subscription cycles and numerous special projects. These include project, Nosferatu-Symphony in the dark or multi-genre gig with the band Čechomor and Transformations with a record attendance of 4,500 spectators, summer cinema or concert with the Hungarian band OMEGA also in theater. Traditionally participates in the ceremony of opening of the Spa season in Karlovy Vary. Cooperates with the Karlovy Vary Jazzfestem and prestigious Singing contest of Antonín Dvořák. The Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra since 1992, is organizing a music festival, Beethoven’s days.
