Hand grenade found in Prague school cellar
A hand grenade was found in the school in the Stepanska Street in Prague today, due to which about 500 people, including 450 pupils, had to be evacuated from it this morning, police spokesman Jan Danek has told journalists.
The whole street was sealed off, Danek said.
After a bomb disposal expert found out that the grenade was non-functioning, the police called off the emergency.
The grenade was in the cellar of the building. “The whole building was evacuated, 450 students plus 45 staff,” Danek said.
The street was closed for car traffic, while pedestrians could go in. Just before noon, the police announced that there was a “non-functioning grenade” and canceled the emergency measure instantly.
