Size 75 shoes created to help with social distancing
Grigore Lup, a cobbler from the Transylvanian city of Cluj, has created long-nosed leather shoes to help keep people apart and respect the rules of social distancing. They’re labeled as a European size 75. Lup says the shoe is more of a punishment than a fashion statement, though.
‘I saw people crowding and not respecting the social distancing rules and I said to myself let’s make a shoe either to punish them or that they could actually wear (them) and maybe that way they will keep the distance.’ Lup said.
Lup, who has made shoes for 39 years, says the shoes take around two days to make and retail for just under €100.
